October 8, Membership Meeting
Our speaker will be Dave Rothrock. Dave has been fly fishing and tying flies since the mid-1960’s. Dave’s articles have appeared in a variety of publications, including FLY FISHERMAN and PENNSYLVANIA ANGLER magazines. He has displayed his skills at fly fishing shows throughout the northeast, Midwestern United States as well as shows in Canada, Germany and Austria. Dave is recognized as one of the foremost authorities on the streams of Pennsylvania, particularly in the central and north-central regions.

October 16 is "egg day" for Trout in the Classroom participants. George Petersen will need help in distributing the eggs to each of the schools involved. If you can spare a few hours on Thursday, October 16 please contact George Petersen, EJTU's TIC coordinator, at grpetersen44@verizon.net.

Sunday, Oct 12: Day trip to the Flat Brook DIRECTIONS

    1. From our meeting hall in Rochelle Park head west on Passaic Street 0.9 mile
    2. Merge onto Garden State Pkwy South via ramp on left 1.3 mile
    3. Merge onto Interstate 80 West via exit 159 toward Paterson 16.0 mile
    4. Take the Interstate 80 West exit (?)(not an exit) toward Netcong/DelWaterGap 0.3 mile
    5. Merge onto Interstat 80 Express Lane West 1.7 mile
    6. Interstate 80 Express Lane West becomes Interstate 80 West 9.7 mile
    7. Merge onto NJ-15 North via Exit 34B toward Jefferson/Sparta 17.9 mile
    8. NJ-15 becomes US-206 7.8 mile
    9. Turn LEFT onto CR-560/Dingmans Road less than 1.0 mile
    10.You will see a small parking area on the RIGHT, then the BRIDGE ABUTMENTS AS YOU PASS OVER the FLAT BROOK. DIRECTLY AFTER GOING OVER THE BRIDGE THERE IS ANOTHER PARKING LOT ON YOUR LEFT..PULL INTO THAT PARKING LOT...IF YOU PASS THAT PARKING LOT, THERE IS ANOTHER WITHIN 50 YARDS ON YOUR LEFT. From Rochelle Park the trip is about 56 miles 1 way. The directions are from Mapquest. In effect, once on Interstate 80, you stay on Interstate 80 till exit 34B, when you take NJ-15 North
    We will meet there at between 7:00 & 9:00

    Blue Winged Olive 16-20(dry, wet, & nymph)
    Tan Caddis 14-16
    Wooley Bugger
    Miscellaneous Wet Flies
    Prince Nymph type

Saturday, November 8: Fish the Esopus with members familiar with it's vagaries. Day trip or stay over.

Non-members interested in hearing our speakers are welcome. You don't need to be a member to attend any of our meetings. Check "meeting locations" for directions.

EJTU members are encouraged to bring non-members to our meetings so they may learn about us and hopefully be inclined to join. Members will receive ten points for each new member they get to sign up.
