East Jersey Trout Unlimited is currently working with Project Healing Waters at the Midland Park VFW Hall. Our member - volunteers have been working on fly tying with the veterans that attend, but there are plenty of openings for any vets that want to get a chance to try fly tying, rod building and some fishing action as well. These Veterans only classes are currently held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.
Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. (PHWFF) is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to the recovery and rehabilitation of disabled active duty military personnel and veterans through the therapeutic benefits of fly fishing. Project Healing Waters' goal is to support veterans with disabilities who have endured the stress of serving in harm’s way. All services and activities of PHWFF are offered at no cost and only to veterans. Fly fishing tackle, fly tying materials and equipment are provided, including accommodations for special needs.
