Where to Fish for Trout in New Jersey
New Jersey is certainly one of the most densely populated states in America. However, New Jersey also has many scenic rivers that are filled with multiple species of trout just waiting to be caught and of course........released!!!
The map below shows various New Jersey trout fishing locations frequented by EJTU members, where public parking and access to bodies of water can be found. Each location is indicated on the map below by a East Jersey Trout Unlimited logo.
Please be mindful not to leave any trash when you fish, practice catch and release and to be respectful to your fellow anglers. You will need a NJ fishing license and trout stamp to fish these waters and don't forget to review the current NJ freshwater fishing regulations.
Before you head out to one of these places to try your luck for trout, you may want to consider checking River Flows to verify that the river will be at safe, fishable levels. Remember to use a wading staff, studded boots and a wading belt for safety.
Let us know how you did on your last fishing outing by posting on our EJTU Online Forum or by speaking to us in person at our next chapter meeting.
East Jersey Trout Unlimited would like to wish you the best of luck on your NJ angling adventures!!
