EJTU will having a weekend fly fishing trip to the West Branch of The Delaware River on October 7th-9th 2016.

If you are planning on attending, please RSVP via email, text or phone ASAP. River(s): West Branch of The Delaware River. Other rivers that can be fished within a 40 minute drive are the East Branch of The Delaware River, the main stem of the Delaware River, The Beaverkill and Willowemoc. Meeting Location: Dream Catcher Lodge 393 River Rd, Deposit, NY 13754. Time is TBD. Species: Wild Rainbow and Wild Brown Trout. Wading and/or Floating: Wading. Drift boat trips are also possible (accommodations must be made on your own). Degree of Difficulty: Varies depending on area, pool - moderate / difficult conditions that depend on water CFS levels. The West Branch of the Delaware is wild / unstocked trout fishery. Angling can be challenging and will likely test your skills. Suggested Equipment: 9 foot, 5 weight, leaders vary depending on dries/wet/nymphs. 9-12 foot leader 4x-6x. Tippet-what you are comfortable with. Nearby Fly Shop: Dream Catcher Lodge has a fly shop. West Branch Angler also has a fly shop which is not far away. Accommodations: We will be staying at Dream Catcher Lodge. The lodge is located on the banks of the West Branch of the Delaware River in Deposit, NY. We have reserved the lodge which sleeps eight people and we can reserve additional cabins that sleep four to five people if necessary. The cost will be approximately $60.00 per night. Dream Catcher Lodge Website Licenses: A NY fishing license is required. Purchase NY License Here. Recommended Fly Patterns: BWO, Tricos, Isonychias and October Caddis. Streamer Patterns. Miscellaneous Information: Meals are up to you. The lodge / cabins at Dream Catcher have kitchens and BBQ facilities. Some people may want to go out to eat for meals. This fishing trip is rain or shine. If you agree to attend you will be responsible to pay for your share of the accommodations regardless of weather or water conditions. Wading can be challenging on the West Branch of the Delaware. Studded wading boots and a wading staff are highly recommended. Insects such as mosquitoes and ticks can be problematic in the area we will be visiting. Strong insect repellent may be necessary. Sun block and raingear are also recommended. Cell phone reception can be spotty. |
